Miami, FL – Acium, the pioneer in enterprise browser security, today announced that Kevin Powers, Faculty Director and Lecturer-in-Law for the Masters of Legal Studies (MLS) in Cybersecurity, Risk & Governance program at Boston College Law School, has joined the company’s Advisory Board to help shape Acium’s regulatory compliance strategy.
“As browser security becomes increasingly critical to enterprise security posture, organizations must navigate complex regulatory requirements while protecting their digital workspaces,” said Jon Leiberman, CEO and Co-Founder of Acium. “Kevin’s exceptional background bridging academic research with practical security challenges makes him the perfect addition to our Advisory Board. His insights will ensure our Unified Browser Security platform not only delivers robust protection but also helps organizations meet their compliance obligations.”
As browsers become the primary workspace for business, traditional security tools are falling short. Acium’s patent-pending Unified Browser Security™ technology transforms any browser into a secure, managed workspace—delivering zero-trust security, complete visibility, and comprehensive management in one platform.
Powers brings a unique combination of legal, policy, and cybersecurity expertise to Acium. As Faculty Director & Lecturer-in-Law at Boston College Law School, he leads programs focused on addressing the intersection of law, policy, and technology in cybersecurity. His extensive experience includes, not only teaching at Boston College, but also teaching Executive Education programs on Cybersecurity Governance for Board Directors at MIT Sloan School of Management, and advising private and government organizations on navigating complex regulatory frameworks including SEC, FTC, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other industry-specific compliance requirements.
“The browser has emerged as both the primary productivity tool and a critical security vulnerability for enterprises,” said Powers. “What impresses me about Acium is their recognition that effective security solutions must address both technical threats and compliance requirements. Their Unified Browser Security approach provides the visibility and control organizations need to demonstrate regulatory compliance while protecting sensitive data across browser-based workspaces.”
Powers will provide strategic guidance on Acium’s product development to ensure the platform helps organizations address key compliance requirements. His expertise will be particularly valuable as Acium expands its solutions for regulated industries where browser security represents a significant compliance challenge.
“Today’s regulatory landscape requires organizations to implement comprehensive security controls while maintaining documentation of those controls,” added Powers. “Acium’s platform provides the protection enterprises need while generating the evidence required to demonstrate compliance with increasingly complex regulatory frameworks.”
Founded in November 2024, Acium is the pioneer in Unified Browser Security™. The company’s patent-pending technology protects and manages every browser in an organization from a single, intuitive hub, offering unparalleled visibility, control, and real-time threat protection. With advanced extension risk scoring, Acium helps businesses identify and mitigate threats from risky browser extensions, strengthening security without disrupting workflows.
